This memo amends the earlier versions, by extending the closure of Catholic Schools and Centers (and enacting virtual/online school) through April 15, 2020. Be safe and well everyone! Thank you

Dear Catholic School Parents and Guardians,
March 18, 2020
I‘m writing to you once again to communicate changes to our plans for our Catholic school students.
In keeping with the directives and guidelines from our government and public health authorities, Bishop Gregory Parkes has directed that all Catholic Schools and Early Childhood centers will be closed to students until April 15,2020. The schedule of days follows:
- March 18–20 – Virtual/Online school days.
- March 23-27 – No school; we will be using the days off from Easter vacation to give our teachers and students a mental and physical break.
- March 30 – April 15, Virtual/Online school days; however, on Good Friday, April 10 there is no school.
Currently, there is no guidance beyond April 15. We will communicate changes as soon as possible.
As a parent with two children in our Catholic schools, I understand the familial and life challenges this entire situation has produced while realizing that many families have concerns much greater than mine. I have been amazed at the creativity and can–do attitude that I’ve seen from our teachers and administrators and witnessed incredible acts of kindness and understanding from parents and others. I encourage each of us to look out for one another in our communities and beyond. We are the Church and our actions during this time will define us as Christians. During this very unique Lent, we are called to walk with one another through the desert.
As always, please be assured of my prayers and those of my many colleagues in our Catholic schools.
Sincerely in Christ,
Christopher L. Pastura
Superintendent of Catholic Schools and Centers
